Valenti’s most important piece of advice for aspiring composers is simple: “Your main goal shouldn’t be to pursue an Oscar or to compose on the next blockbuster movie; your main goal should be to love and enjoy what you do. The rest will just be a result of that.”
“Being a good translator of what the director wants in order to achieve the results that he/she is looking for. This doesn’t always match what you think is best for the project, but the director is the boss,” adds Valenti.
