SYNOPSIS
Elma’s Dreams is a documentary directed by Miguel Monforte that tells the story of Elma Pelozo, an 80-year-old woman and mother of Gabino Ruiz Díaz, a young soldier who died during the Falklands War. Elma has two dreams: to meet Geoffrey Cardozo, the man who buried her son with honors, and to travel to the Falkland Islands to visit his grave.
The documentary has recently been screened at various events, including the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, where it was highly acclaimed.
Los Sueños de Elma highlights the relationship between Argentina and the United Kingdom, addressing themes of reconciliation after the war. One of its screenings featured a talk by Julio Aro, a key figure in the story and a participant in the process of identifying the fallen soldiers of the Falklands.
